What is the difference between a port and "merely" an interface?

Guy Atkinson came up to me at XTC London May 21 2024 and asked me to explain in careful detail what I meant by the question What is a Port? and What is the difference between "merely" an interface, and actually a port?

Guy kept me saying it all out loud, even though I was trying to draw on paper and with a wine bottle and wine glass, so you get to hear him bringing me back to words when I'm pointing.
